Matt Matthias (Chief Operating Officer – Newman Golf / PGA Member) -mmatthias@newmangolf.com
Matt has been employed at Briarwood Golf Course and Newman Golf since November 1997.  He became a PGA member in 1994 while working at Echo Valley Country Club in Des Moines, Iowa.  Matt was in the top 5% in the PGA Business school I and II.  His golf experience includes being a four year letter winner at Wartburg College and was 2-time all conference for the Knights.  He graduated from Wartburg in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Finance.  Matt resides in Ankeny, Iowa with his wife, Nicole and his two sons, Griffen and Gavin.
 

Brandon Miller  (Head Golf Professional - PGA Member)
Brandon has been at Briarwood since 2003.  He is a Class A Professional in the PGA of America. Brandon played two years for the University of Iowa Men’s Golf Team.  He is also a graduate from the University of Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in Finance and now resides in Ankeny, Iowa with wife Jennifer.

James Legg (Golf Course Superintendent)
James has worked at Briarwood since 1997. He has an AAS in Commercial Horticulture with two certificates in Turf Management. He resides in Ankeny, Iowa with his wife Louise, his daughter, Alexis and his son, Avin.
